About Us

Founded

Breaking the Barrier Ministries was founded in 2012 as the result of nearly 10 years of international outreach ministry, and as the extension of the ministry of Pastor Russ and Amanda Bowen.

Mission Statement

Building bridges across racial, denominational, and cultural barriers to proclaim a message of the hope and love only found in Christ.

Reaching the unreached is the heartbeat of this ministry…

Why We Exist

To reach and save the lost, hurt and forgotten. This we believe happens effectively through equipping local leaders, churches and people to share the gospel with their own community — resulting in a community of believers reaching their own cities, workplaces, and places of influence.

We partner with local people to create, develop, and execute plans of action to effectively share the gospel. Our goal is not merely to plant another church, but to enable a unified body of Christ to work together, share the gospel with the hurting and broken, and create disciples of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

Relief

Short term relief and aid for families, ministries, and individuals in need today — including relief aid, Live Love Projects, community development, and medical missions. Meeting immediate needs so lives can move forward into a brighter future.

Restoration

Introducing ongoing change, teaching, and support into the lives of people we reach, drawing them closer to a relationship with Christ. This includes short-term and long-term missions trips, local crusades, and outreaches.

Enabling

Providing the necessary resources for a self-sustaining, healthy, encouraging, and interdependent community of Christians.

Development

Long-term plans to create an impact of Christ that changes not only the current generation, but generations to come — building strong families, communities, and local economies.
